I was diagnosed with breast cancer one week after my 36th birthday. I was shocked, angry and scared! Nobody in my life had personally gone through this type of experience and I was too young. I had four surgeries, 5 months of chemotherapy, 33 radiation treatments and I take Tamoxifen for five years. When treatment was over I was struggling with moving on past the anger and "now what?". Ten months later I decided to check out the dragon boat racing team I had heard about. Since then I have felt connected, understood and happy. These women don't dwell on all that has happened to them because we are all in the same boat. This team has helped me recover.
