2008 Calendar of Events
Exciting Breaking News! Our boat arrived from China on March 19, 2008. She will live at the marina on Geist Reservoir. The Indy SurviveOars are so appreciatative of Kent Duckwall and his men from The Marina Limited Partnership for taking good care of Indiana's first dragon boat.
Below is a list of the calendar of events we have for the summer. We encourage you to attend as many of the events as possible. Some are races and some are for raising awareness of Breast Cancer. Both serve to fulfill the mission of INSO. We welcome non-paddlers and non-BCS to attend all events for support.
INDIANA STATE FAIR
The date, details and further information will come soon. The Indy SurviveOars boat and booth will be inside the Clarian Healthy Lifestyles Building. This is a 1 day only display. Approximate time: 8:30 am – 6:30 pm (shifts of 3-4 hours). (Breast Cancer awareness, and promote/recruit for team.)

Practice
Paddling practice will take place every Monday and Wednesday evening from 6:30 pm sharp until approximately 7:45 pm and Saturday mornings from 7:30 am until approximately 8:45 am at the Geist marina boat launch area. This schedule is subject to change due to weather and safety concerns.
There will be no practice on May 3 (Saturday), May 17 (Saturday) and Memorial Day weekend (May 23-26). In lieu of these practices, a practice has been scheduled for Thursday, May 15th at 6:30 pm - 7:45 pm.
Please remember that we must have at least 14 paddlers to take the boat out. It is assumed that all paddlers will attend practice unless they have notified Team Captain Etta Biloon at biloelmo ( a t ) sbcglobal (d o t) net prior to the practice date.
New Paddlers
Indy SurviveOars is happy to welcome new paddlers! However, prior to attending regular practice on the boat, all new paddlers must participate in one of the New Paddler Clinics. These clinics will take place the first Thursday of every month at the Fall Creek Township Building from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm. This is the building attached to the fire house located at 116th Street and Brook School Road in Fishers.
